Installation instructions

Mac

  1. Open the downloaded DMG file.
  2. Drag iStudyCloud to the Applications folder to copy it to your Mac. Use that copy, rather than opening the app inside the DMG.
  3. In Finder, open Applications and double-click iStudyCloud.

If a warning appears the first time you open it

This Mac build is signed by iStudyCloud but has not yet been notarized by Apple (an automated security check). The first time you open it, macOS may warn that Apple could not verify the app. Check that you downloaded it from istudycloud.com/download before continuing.

  1. If macOS says Apple could not verify iStudyCloud for malware, click Done. Do not choose Move to Trash.
  2. Choose Apple menu > System Settings > Privacy & Security, then scroll down to Security.
  3. Click Open Anyway next to the notice that iStudyCloud was blocked. On macOS 15 or later, use this Settings route. On macOS 13 or 14, you can also Control-click the app in Finder, choose Open, then click Open again.
  4. If asked, confirm with your Mac login password (or Touch ID if offered). If the warning appears again, click Open.
  5. When iStudyCloud opens, installation is complete. Next time, double-click the app you allowed in Applications to open it.

If Open Anyway is missing, first try opening iStudyCloud from Applications again, then return to Settings right away. The button only appears for a while after a launch attempt. If you are still blocked, Contact support.

If the warning says the app is damaged or malware was detected, it is a different issue from the one covered here. Do not open the app. Delete it, then Contact support.

Windows

  1. If your browser blocks the download, choose “Keep” in the downloads list.
  2. Open the downloaded installer.
  3. If you see “Windows protected your PC”, click More info and check that it says Publisher: ISTUDYCLOUD INC..
  4. Click Run anyway to continue the installation. If the publisher is different, don’t run it — download it again from istudycloud.com/download.
  5. Follow the installation steps.
  6. Launch iStudyCloud.
Release notes
  • The update progress bar fills just once, then moves straight to "Getting the update ready" when the download is done.
  • An update you have already downloaded is never downloaded a second time.
  • After an update, the center PC starts again right away, so devices in the same building no longer wait for minutes.
